From a very young age, I was taught to love science and wildlife. I was obsessed with dinosaurs, evolution, and most of all, the ocean. Naturally, this led me to want to become a marine biologist. Little did I know that becoming a biologist of any kind is incredibly hard work and requires a lot of studying, something I was never very good at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I did, however, discover that I love communicating science. My art vastly improved during my time studying the natural world and I found that biology and illustration go together quite well. At my job with Sealcentre Pieterburen, I learned to enjoy public speaking and talking about different aspects of the scientific world. I got to write and translate various articles and texts, which made me reconsider my aspirations for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now I want to help make science accessible to those who are less well-versed in the study of the natural world. I want to encourage other people to love science as much as I do. Even if, like me, they\u2019re not quite suited to be a scientist themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
